There is nothing like the expectation of a new water. You can't wait to get down and every spare moment is spent either on the place or thinking about it. Carp fever as it's know can easily get a hold driving you on ever more to get results. But at this time of year the carp are still waking up. Conditions can be changeable and the going can be tough. Slogging away at it through these times can eat away at your confidence and your enthusiasm. Even if your doing well familiarity can often breed contempt. Pacing yourself and having time off is important. it stops you burning out and keeps the flame of adventure burning bright. So i have had a week off from Valley pool...that's enough though!
