We are now on episode seven of Valley pool but it's only the third session. The weather for April this year has been unseasonally kind and hot. Windless sunny days have been the norm for a month now but Valley pool is small and deep so it takes a while for it to warm up unlike a gravel pit. This of course is due to the larger surface area affected by the wind and sun and the shallower depth which enables faster mixing of the water on gravel pits. So the place is still twitchy and the weather unlike location is the major factor in deciding if we catch a carp.
