This is the rig i tie for presenting little or chewed popups. Originally used on runs waters for sub twenty pound fish it's proved itself with the bigger ones too! 18 inches of Pallatrax Steam link in 25lb, a size 10 Medium curve shank hook and a small popup weight from Fox. To tie: 1. Strip off 5 inches of the coating on the Pallatrax. 2. Fold over 1 1/2 inches one end and tie a figure of eight loop for the hair loop. 3. Thread on a small ring and tie an overhand knot so the hair is the width of your popup. 4. Pass the ring over the point of the hook and hold at the top of the curve. 5. Thread your hooklink through the top of the eye and do a minimum of 8 turns for your knotless knot to stop the fine braid from slipping then thread back through to finish off your knot (tip: do more turns if you have more than 3/8 inch of uncoated braid left). 6. Thread on a rig sleeve. 7. Fold over the hooklink 7 1/2 inches from the end of the hook and loosely pull together a figure of eight loop. 8. Tighten the figure of eight loop over a gently steaming kettle. 9. Stretch the rig over the same steaming kettle to straighten. 10. Pull on your popup weight on the short uncoated part left. 11. Snip off the tag end and store in your rig box. Tip: To lengthen the hair enough to put on a popup and hair stop. Just pull down on the hair against the hook shank to make the knot slip on the ring. To tighten back up, hold the rig at the figure of eight loop, place a boilie needle through the ring and pull down so the knot slips back.
