On my trips to Linford lakes i have been lucky enough to see some wonderful birds of prey. The Red kite circling in pairs high in the summer sky over the lakes letting out their tell tale high pitched whistle. The most amazing? An Osprey! Witnessed by my friend Shaun and myself as we sat by Redhouse lake Autumn 2014. It came down over the water, grabbed something (a fish i guess?) and then flew off in a tremendous arc across the sky, wonderful! This is a Barn owl and it spent the last few hours of the day circling Redhouse lake looking for it's dinner. Totally silent in flight and an incredible sight to see. Fishing aint just about catching, is it.
