My best session of the year (see previous post) and i did not film a single second of it, in fact i haven't had my camera out in four weeks which is a first as it's used most weeks 8 months of the year. Since the Woolpack closed for spawning i have to say i've been at a loose end so rediscovering my love for the carp fishing in this water despite the awful noise pollution, swimmers, canoeists, dog walkers, joggers etc was pleasing and i wish now that i had taken you through the session with me on camera. Chods were the order of the day as most of the lake is covered in dense weed which has been cut for the swimmers and canoeists so of course you can't see it. However long chods and good use of the lead will find you the weed depth and distribution so it's not impossible. I have to say this is my second session on the lake. The previous week i learned a lot which i think went a long way in the choice of swim and the tactics used which in turn helped me score so well. However i am back on the pack next week and hopefully i can get back into the groove i was in that got me three runs on lake 8 in two sessions way back in late May early June. It will of course all be on film, as it happens, keeping it real.
