Some days when you arrive at a lake you just know your going to catch and most of these days are warm windy days with racing grey sky's. This day was such a day and the south westerly that was piling down lake 8 was forecast for the rest of the week. Picking a swim was still going to be tough but I had already narrowed it down to the last three on the east bank getting all the wind. So, as I marched up and down between them I scanned the water for signs of fish but in the end, relied on previous knowledge and a strong gut instinct. It's at times like these when you have put in all the hard work that you rely on this most basic of instincts to point you in the right direction and I have to say it doesn't often fail me.
