One of the things that has surprised me since I first started blogging my fishing and especially my cooking on the bank, is that some chaps don't know how to cook chips? But then these days most either cook oven or microwave chips and the art of homemade chips it seems has been lost on them. Well no more as I have taken on the responsibility to ensure the banks and towpaths of britain are rife with the smell of freshly cooked chips in the pan. Chips are what made Britain great and lets face it the best way to cook a potato, especially when accompanied by a brace of bar-b-q style lamb chops.
Ok so here is how to cook chips on the bank.
1. Pour some cooking oil in your pan and turn on the gas (don't forget to light it!)
2. Wash, Peel & chop potatoes into chips (or if lazy wash & chop)
3. Put peeled & chopped potatoes in hot oil and leave until crispy golden brown
4. Remove oil by pouring into metal cup/tin
5. Add salt & vinegar to taste!
6. I can't believe I've written this ;-)
