For many years I have used sticks and bags to give me better presentation and a more attractive trap. The benefits are obvious, not only will you get your bait and trap set exactly as you want but you also get the added attraction of the bag/sticks contents. It's a win-win situation but there is one drawback, you need to be spot on with your cast. If not you can waste a lot of time setting it all up again filling bags/sticks, drying your rig etc. Sometimes it takes me three or four casts to get my rig exactly where I want it, so not exactly good for bag fishing. Yes you can make up all your sticks in advance, I do this myself as I like to soak them in glug but there is an easier way, one that fits just right with my sort of angling and that's Paste. It takes seconds to squeeze on and lets face it, it wont hurt if you have to recast. It's great for firing out with a catapult and I am sure it has helped me get fish in the swim and put some on the bank. This is one of the little edges that I used so successfully last year on lake 8 that simply helped me fish a little more effectively.
