When i started to fish lake 7 i went in with the same successful tactics i have used countless times before. Baiting was to be done little and often after a good initial feed, and kept up constantly during the session. The lead system was my trusty semi-fixed-running-rig with the line up in the water semi-tight and the hooklength the ever reliable fluorocarbon. However things change over time as you begin to get a feel for the water and the problems you are up against. The baiting strategy has worked and when fish have been feeding they have been on me clearing me out. However the lead system and rigs have not been working as well and it's this area where i am concentrating most of my efforts now. The good thing about having such a long career in carping (since 1980) is that i can go back to the very basics and i can remember exactly the reactions and results i got thanks to my diarys. It's here where i will find my answers because it's the same problem only decades on and all it needs is for me to step up.
