My trip to spain to fish the river Ebro in October 2016 started off on one of its tributaries, The River Segre. The main source for the River Segre is the Pyrenees mountains and it flows into the Ebro at Mequinenza.
We arrived late in the evening and it was well dark by the time we got the rods out. I was fishing a long shallow slack area created in the margin by the flow of the river, six feet out and six feet deep. Two rods, one placed left three meters downstream and the other at six meters and slightly closer in. An 18mm boilie with paste wrapped around it was the hookbait and the loose feed was a couple of kilos of cooked Maize spread between the two rods. In the early hours i woke to the lads and the Delkim screaming at me that i had a take.
To be honest it's all a bit of a blur which is why i want to go back to do it all again, hopefully in the spring of 2017, the fish was 29.14lb by the way ;-)
