Another cold week past with a little respite from the sun it can only get warmer, winter is finally over.
Lake temperature for lake 5 this week was 11°C and the fish were finally moving about.
I spotted the usual suspects in the south east corner of lake 7, the linear (40lb+) and a number of good thirties getting some sun.
Noticeably they were all coated in silt which indicates they have only just come off the bottom after winter hibernation. No clay markings either so they haven't started to rid themselves of Argulus (fish lice) yet either.
I spotted one fish in the south east corner of lake 5 doing the same which, given it's small size I suspect is the mid twenty the boss put in a little while ago from lake 4.
They will be shoaling up for cleaning and spawning over the next weeks so it'll be interesting to see how these big fish behave.
Hopefully they will be hungry!
