In 1981 I was 24 years old and in my second year of carp fishing.
One of my first trips was to a little pool known as the Kidney pool (still is as far as I know). It was about an acre in size and was known to hold about ten fish with the biggest a 21 lb+ Mirror (which I eventually caught two years later off the top on my floater cake). Anyway as you can see my mate was fast asleep on his garden sun lounger whilst all I had was a garden chair.
I caught the only fish (my first from the pool), a common of around 8 lbs on a cube of luncheon meat link-legered (thats a 1/2 oz bomb on a 3 inch link attached to a swivel and running on the line, stopped by another swivel and bead for the hooklink made from 12 inches of mainline).
As you can see I also didn't have a pair of matching rods yet either but I did have a matching pair of mitchell 300's! (wish I still had them)
