It's just after 6AM on the Gault lake and the sun is out blasting it's heat down and ensuring any feeding in the swim will be short and sweet. It's an undeniable fact and although you still have a chance of course, it's a slim one.
On lakes like this you need the breaks to give you the best chance, there is all sorts of problems to overcome and so you really need the weather with you. There will hopefully in the future come a time when I can get out on the lake with a boat. If that happens then a whole different kind of fishing will open up to me and the opportunities will be there whatever the weather. However for now I am bound to the bank and the swims it provides.
This picture is from last week, I had three days off to fish but every one of them was like this. I went the first day as I had an idea and I wanted to see it through and I did achieve a few things so not a complete waste of time. The 20-22mm hookers I made worked a treat and I didn't pick up any bream even though they were giving me plenty of indication with liners. This week when I saw the forecast for the same I went elsewhere.
Next week the weather is with me!
