A rare riverbeast
Rolling & Breaching Carp
I think it's got to be one of the most exciting things in fishing, hearing your alarm go off whilst fishing a river. Even more so perhaps when you get it in the net, but that bit in between, that's the bit that leaves you breathless. It all means so much, it's no wonder it gets the emotions going and the heart racing.
This one is probably an old resident of the Ouse as it had that look and feel about it that's fairly unmistakable. Gnarled worn scales and fins, a geriatric look, it's highly likely that in its prime, it was much bigger. Of course this didn't take anything away from the capture because it isn't about weight on the river, it's about that alarm going off, getting it in the net and that bit in between.
