At some point this week i need to set aside an hour making hookers and popups. I use some manufactured ones but i also carry my own which i use most of the time. At the moment i carry about five different hookers (all homemade) and another eight pots of popups in three sizes. What i pull off the shelf depends on the venue and the bait i am using . Of course there are some i carry all the time. I also have several pots in the freezer which i make whilst i am bait making. I carry an array of fake hookbaits too, all buoyant. The new Enterprise tackle fake Mixer (excellent but needs tweaking in use (in a later blog)). Fake Corn (of course but why?) in various colours, some glow in the dark! Foam in various colours (excellent for popping up any hooker or just giving that popup an extra bit of buoyancy. Or chew that popup away and turn it into a balanced hooker. The end result should always be the same even though the conditions and the lake bed might not.
