It's 4.30 AM in Fenland as i lay in bed sipping a hot coffee looking out through the mozzy net at another brand new day. It's the best time of day for a bite, for spotting fish and for just simply being there. I think everything about being a carp angler can be encapsulated at dawn. This week i had three such dawns as i did my first full 72 hour session. Once again the Fenland winds blew hard but this time from the north. I don't like being on the end of a cold wind in spring so i settled in again in the north east corner and continued on where i had left off the previous week. Searching out the fresh silkweed and trying to overcome the problems fishing it, putting up with the Coots on my margin rod, changing rigs, scratching my head, going back to what i started with before changing it again. Yep your usual session, all on film, as it happens and of course keeping it real.
