I started to use solid pva bags alot more in 2004 whilst fishing the woolpacks lake 3. Being a mature gravel pit the bottom was littered with debris making presentation a haphazard affair. Even though I was on fish and using a proven bait I wasn't catching many and after a few tests dumping the rig in the margin I soon realised why.
I wanted a method that would ensure everything was laid out right once it hit the bottom, no matter where it fell or what it settled into and solid bags offered the answer.
First time out using them I caught and over the next 5 years using them on a variety of waters they proved their worth with me landing somewhere around 100 20lb+ fish.
The more you use something the better you become at it and also the simpler it often becomes too.
So now, no matter what the spot is like I know a solid bag will always do the job.
