Last weeks session on lake 7 for the Pike produced two runs from the third swim i tried in the last hour of light. The silver fish could be seen topping in my swim as they moved in and within minutes i spotted a pike roll and bubble very much like a Carp. The first time i ever saw this was as a kid of 11 whilst fishing the River Granta at Grantchester meadows. Gudgeon live-bait was the in bait and i clearly saw a pike roll before the take. As ever the session provided me with plenty to think about and improve so next time out i'll take the spomb and some feed for the swim. Liquidised herring, a bottle of K-LO glug and enough brown crumb to stiffen it should do the job and i'll throw in some pellets too. Dead baits will be injected with salmon oil and i'll also start fishing them up off the bottom. I might even try the Kebab rig... It's getting more like carp fishing every session eh :P
