The last episode in the current series of The woolpack lake 7 is in it's final edit and soon the series will be over, in 2017 i plan to get back to more wild fishing here and abroad.
Back to this episode and as you can see one thing that will always be around is weed, specifically this stuff, Hornwort. It's a tough customer and worst of all razor sharp colonies of Zebra mussels like to bloom around the top nodes. All in all it's not something you want the fish to hang around in long while on the end of you line however it cannot be ignored as fish love to hold up in, and around it.
Whatever time of year you are fishing the temperature of a weedbed will always be more stable than the surrounding water as it holds heat well due to its mass. It creates cover as well as providing the environment to sustain food supplies and in the colder month's when it's scarce finding one is like finding gold.
