Especially an easterly and a northerly.
Westerly? On the end if it.
A southerly? cast to the back of it when new.
Warm water slides against the cold, only mixing off the wind so you might have to wait a while for good effect and only if its sunny, the more sustained the radient energy from the sun, the faster the water warms.

The fish are just waking up so they'll be grouping up in a loose fashion but will all appear together at certain times. One of these is cleaning off argulus and such like.
They'll use just about anything to dislodge them. The lake bottom, reeds, tree roots and other under water obstacles, vegitation, just about anything.
You can easily spot where they are doing it because they often breach to help complete the process.
Breaching is different to rolling in that the fish shoots out of the water verticaly and turns to crash down on its side to dislodge the argulus. Many of you will know I caught all of this on film at Valley pool. https://thecarpcatcher.co.uk/thecarpcatchers_blog.php?post=168

So, be prepared to move about, the carp are not all awake, nor are they spread out.
With water temps still low digestion will be slow so give them a good food thats easy to digest.
On that note, make sure you take good food for yourself and carry your cold weather kit as the weather can turn quick at this time of year ☀️⛅🌦️🌧️⚡🌈
