My first view of the River Ebro in October 2016 will always stay with me, it was breathtaking. The massive escarpment of the Tossals de' Almatret rising high above the winding River Ebro all in panoramic view. Quite an awesome sight to behold but getting down to the swim was something else as well.
Steep rocky roads cut into the side of the rock with sheer drops down the valley floors it took your breath away. Then the silence and expanse of the river and the knowledge that it held some truly massive carp, all wild and un-named.
I had an amazing week but it was also a very hard week, tough on the body and the soul. The weather threw plenty at us and at times we feared we would not get out in time to catch our flights home but in the end it all came good ;-)
